Under the Philadelphia Fair Practices Ordinance, it is unlawful for any person to deny or interfere with the public accommodations opportunities of an individual or otherwise discriminate based on his or her race, ethnicity, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, marital status, familial status, or domestic or sexual violence victim status.
Prohibited actions include refusing, withholding, or denying to any person, any of the accommodations, advantages, facilities or privileges of such public accommodation on a discriminatory basis.
Posting Requirements
The owner, lessee, proprietor, manager, superintendent, agent or employee of any public accommodation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania must display the Philadelphia Public Accommodations poster in any place of business where public accommodations are provided.
