The Nevada Workplace Safety Booklet outlines the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees to promote a safe workplace. The booklet informs employees of their responsibility to follow safety procedures and proper reporting procedure for potential safety hazards, and informs employers of their responsibility to maintain a safe workplace, provide safety training, and maintain accurate records.

The Nevada Workplace Safety Booklet also contains a cut-off acknowledgement of receipt which certifies that the employee has received the booklet or watched a safety video, and that the employee understands their rights and responsibilities for safety in the workplace.

The Nevada Workplace Safety Booklet was updated in February 2018 to reflect new reporting requirements for on-the-job accidents or motor vehicle crashes which result in an employee’s in-patient hospitalization, the amputation of a limb, or the loss of an eye. This update was the result of a new law which went into effect on October 2017.

The Nevada Workplace Safety Booklet is available in packs of 10.

Employee Handout Requirements

Under Nevada law, every employer is required to provide new hires with either the Nevada Workplace Safety Booklet or the “Safety in the Workplace” video produced by Nevada Safety Consultation and Training (or a document/video conforming to the same standards). The employer is required to maintain an acknowledgement of receipt signed by the employee. (NRS 618.376, NAC 618.544)
