Who must post the Immigrant Worker Protection Act Poster?
- By October 1, 2026, all Washington employers must post and keep posted, in a conspicuous place or places on the premises of the employer where notices to workers are customarily posted, the official Immigrant Worker Protection Act (IWPA) poster. (49.97.040 RCW)
- Employers are required to display the IWPA poster in English and the five most used non-English languages in the state. The IWA Poster includes the following required languages:
- English
- Spanish
- Russian
- Vietnamese
- Ukrainian
- Chinese-Mandarin
IWPA Poster Details
The IWPA posting outlines employer requirements to inform each worker if the employer receives notice of an I-9 inspection from a federal agency.
Employers must:
- Notify each worker within 5 business days of receiving a federal I-9 inspection notice.
- Notify each affected worker within 5 business days if inspection results identify any deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Identify where required notices will be posted and how they will be communicated to each worker.
