Wisconsin Unemployment Benefits Posting Update
The Wisconsin Unemployment Insurance Division has updated the mandatory-to-post Unemployment Benefits posting entitled “Notice to Employees About Applying for Wisconsin Unemployment Benefits.” The posting reflects changes to the unemployment claim filing process:
- Individuals participating in the Trade Adjustment Assistance program may now apply for benefits.
- When submitting an initial claim, individuals must do so within seven days of the end of the calendar week in which they want to receive a benefit payment.
- Individuals will be asked for their current address when applying, and for their bank routing and account number if they want to receive benefit payments via direct deposit.
- The hours to apply for unemployment benefits online have been extended.
The posting revision date is 01/04/2024.
Posting Requirements
All employers covered by Wisconsin’s Unemployment Insurance Law are required to display the Unemployment Benefits posting in a conspicuous place (Wisconsin Administrative Code, DWD 120.01).
