Hawaii has released the updated Wage & Hour Laws posting. The posting features Hawaii annual minimum wage rate increases through January 1, 2018. The current minimum wage rate is $7.25 per hour. The minimum wage rate increases to $7.75 per hour beginning January 1, 2015. The state minimum wage rate will ultimately reach $10.10 per hour beginning January 1, 2018. Under certain circumstances, tipped employees may be paid an hourly rate less than the minimum wage. Gratuities can be factored into tipped employees’ compensation.
In addition, the Wage & Hour Laws posting has been updated to include new methods for the payment of wages. Specifically, employers may pay employees by direct deposit into an employee’s depository account or by pay card. Under the new law, employees must be given written notice of the terms of the pay card or direct deposit program, be given the option to receive payment of wages by direct deposit, pay card, or paper check, and consent to participation in the pay program.
The updated Wage & Hour Laws posting is required for all Hawaii employers. Customers may update with a new Hawaii All-On-One Labor Law Poster™ or with a Hawaii Wage & Hour Laws Peel ‘N Post™ for their current Hawaii All-On-One poster.
