MNOSHA’s Injury Reporting Changes

Earlier this year, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) revised their recordkeeping rules. The changes included reporting all work-related fatalities within eight hours and all work-related inpatient hospitalizations, all amputations, and all losses on an eye within 24 hours starting on January 1, 2015. These federal OSHA changes were adopted by Minnesota OSHA (MNOSHA) on March 18, 2015 and became effective October 1, 2015.

MNOSHA has released the updated “Safety and Health on the Job” now titled “Safety and Health Protection on the Job.” The posting includes the new injury reporting requirements and Workplace Safety Consultation contact information for assistance on how to identify and correct hazards in the workplace. The posting’s new date is October 2015.

Minnesota employers covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Act, are required to post the “Safety and Health Protection on the Job” posting. To post the latest version of this posting, make sure to order the updated Minnesota All-On-One Labor Law Poster.
