Louisiana Posting Update Details

Pregnancy Rights of Employees

  • Must be posted by employers with more than 25 employees. (R.S. §23:342C).
  • Reflects pregnancy-related rights and protections established by 2021 Senate Bill 215. The law:
    • prohibits employers from discriminating against an applicant or employee temporarily disabled due to pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions; and
    • requires employers to provide employees with physical limitations due to pregnancy with reasonable accommodations, including access to facilities, job modifications, and leave.

Independent Contractor or Employee?

  • Must be posted by all Louisiana employers. (R.S. §23:711G).
  • Reflects an increase in the penalties for misclassification of workers as independent contractors pursuant to 2021 House Bill 705. The law authorizes fines of up to $2500 per misclassified worker per instance.
  • Shows the updated Louisiana Workforce Commission Fraud Hotline number and email address.
