What’s new?
The 2022 Employment Protections for Victims of Crime posting has been revised to reflect changes made by House Bill 477, as follows:
- employees who are alleged victims of crime are protected from discrimination and harassment by employers based on their status as an alleged victim
- employers are required to provide alleged victims with job-protected, unpaid leave to attend certain court proceedings related to a relevant crime
- definition of the term “alleged victim”
- changes are effective as of July 1, 2022
Who must post?
All Vermont employers are required post the Employment Protections for Victims of Crime notice in a conspicuous location at each place of business. (21 VSA § 472c) |
