What’s new?
The South Carolina Employment Discrimination posting has been revised to clarify that:
  • “Sex” discrimination includes discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
  • The South Carolina Human Affairs Commission (SCHAC) enforces State and Federal employment discrimination laws.
  • Prohibited employment practices include:
    • Failure to provide reasonable accommodation due to a sincerely held religious belief, observance, or practice.
    • Retaliation or conduct that might reasonably discourage someone from opposing discrimination or filing a charge.
    • Harassment, including unwelcome verbal or physical conduct or intimidation.
  • Features a new QR code for mobile access to SCHAC’s online features and resources.
Who must post?

South Carolina employers with 15 or more employees are required to post, keep posted, and maintain the South Carolina Employment Discrimination posting in conspicuous places on their premises where notices to employees and applicants are customarily posted. (S.C. Code of Regulations § 65-24)
