Under Rhode Island law, all food establishments must display this food allergy poster where staff can easily view it. Food establishments are also required to designate a manager who is knowledgeable with regard to the relevant issues concerning food allergies as they relate to food preparation.
The Rhode Island Department of Health designed the Food Allergy Poster to help raise food allergy awareness. The poster identifies the nine major food allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, eggs, milk, wheat, soy, and sesame. The poster also includes information on how to avoid cross contamination when working in the kitchen.
