The Missouri Department of Labor has announced the state minimum wage will increase by 15 cents from $7.35 per hour to $7.50 per hour effective January 1, 2014. As dictated by Missouri Revised Statutes Chapter 290, Section 502(2), the minimum wage increases or decreases on January 1 each year based on adjustments in the cost of living, as calculated by the Missouri Department of Labor director.
