Attention: Kentucky Employers
|
What’s changed?
Earlier this year, Governor Beshear signed Executive Order 2020-014 to reestablish the state’s Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board. The Board is a 13 member body chaired by the Secretary of Labor. The Order appoints the remaining 12 members that will serve until January 8, 2023. The Board is responsible to adopting, amending or revoking occupational safety and health rules, regulations and standards. In July 2018, former Governor Bevin abolished the Board via executive order.
Kentucky’s Safety and Health on the Job notice has been revised to reflect the Board’s reestablishment. The notice also states that the Board will meet annually and additionally as needed, and all meetings are open to the public.
