What’s new?
The Vermont Minimum Wage Law (21 V.S.A. § 381, et. seq.) requires the state minimum wage rate to increase each year based on the percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for the preceding year.
The adjusted wage rates taking effect on January 1, 2022 are:
- 2022 Minimum wage rate – $12.55 per hour
- 2022 Basic (tipped employees) wage rate – $6.28 per hour
- 2022 Maximum tip credit – $6.28 per hour
Who must post?
- The Minimum Wage Law covers employers who employ two or more employees, unless exempted by statute. (21 V.S.A. § 382)
- Every employer subject to the provisions of the Minimum Wage Law is required to display a current copy of the Department of Labor’s Minimum Wage Notice where employees may refer to it. (24 V.A.C. 24-090-003)
