Santa Fe, NM 2013 Living Wage Increase; New Labor Law Poster Required

Effective March 1, 2013, all Santa Fe, New Mexico employers are required to pay employees a minimum wage of $10.51 per hour for all hours worked within Santa Fe city limits. This includes full- and part-time and temporary employees. The annual Living Wage increase is required by City Ordinance and corresponds to the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Who is affected?

  1. The city of Santa Fe
  2. Contractors for the city of Santa Fe performing services under contracts totaling $30,000 or more
  3. Businesses receiving economic development grants, subsidies, loan guarantees or industrial revenue bonds in excess of $25,000
  4. Businesses required to have a business license or business registration from the city of Santa Fe and nonprofit organizations

Who must post the Living Wage Ordinance?

Any business subject to the provisions of this ordinance must post the Santa Fe Living Wage Ordinance poster. The notice must be displayed in both English and Spanish and posted in a prominent location on the business premises next to the business’ license or registration.
