Because workplaces are constantly changing, the US Department of Labor is always reviewing its existing regulations to update rules that may be out of date, ineffective, insufficient or excessively burdensome. For example, in recent years OSHA implemented three improvement projects to address duplicative, unnecessary and inconsistent safety and health standards.
Right now, the DOL is looking for ideas from the public on which rules should be modified, streamlined, expanded or even repealed. To gather ideas from the public, the DOL has launched an interactive website where interested individuals can go to suggest rules that should be reviewed and improvements that can be made. The department poses several questions looking for ways it can better serve regulated entities as well as workers, job-seekers and retirees.
