What changed?
 
  • Your Rights Under Illinois Employment Laws – The required workplace posting has been revised to reflect the Illinois Minimum Wage rate of $10.00 per hour effective July 1, 2020
  • Victims’ Economic Security and Safety Act (VESSA) -This is a newly released required posting for all Illinois employers. VESSA provides leave to employees who are victims of domestic violence, or who have a family or household member who is a victim of domestic violence. The amount of leave ranges from 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the number of employees who work for the employer. Leave can be used to:
    • Seek medical attention
    • Obtain victim services
    • Obtain psychological or other counseling
    • Participate in safety planning
    • Seek legal assistance
Who must post?

Every employer subject to Illinois Labor Laws must post Your Rights Under Illinois Employment Laws in a conspicuous and accessible place on the premises wherever any covered employee is employed. (820 ILCS 105/9, 115/10, 112/40, 205/6). All private employers, the State, State agencies, units of local government, and school districts are required to post VESSA in a conspicuous place on the premises where notices to employees are customarily posted. (820 ILCS 180/40).
