What’s new?
The Rhode Island Minimum Wage posting has been updated with the following minimum wage rates effective October 1, 2020:
- Minimum wage for all workers – $11.50 per hour
- Minimum wage for full-time students under 19 years of age working in nonprofit organizations – $10.35 per hour
- Minimum wage for minors 14 and 15 years of age working less than 24 hours in a week – $8.63 per hour
All Rhode Island employers must display this posting in the workplace (Rhode
Island General Law, §28-12-11).
What else changed?
The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training has redesigned the following postings:
- Parental and Family Medical Leave Act (Rhode Island General Law, §28-48-10)
- Right-to-Know Law (Rhode Island General Law, §28-21-1)
- Workers’ Compensation Act (Rhode Island General Law, §28-29-13)
- Unemployment and Temporary Disability Insurance Benefits, and Employment and Training Services (Rhode Island General Law, §28-44-38; 41-15)
- Working on State or Municipal Financed Construction Projects?
- Child Labor Laws
