Other Provincial Labour Law Poster Updates
Ontario: The Standards of Employee Rights in the Workplace posting was revised with a new extended work hours approval process. Before an employer can agree to allow an employee or employees to work more than 48 hours in a work week, the employer must provide a copy of the most recent “Information for Employees About Hours of Work and Overtime Pay” document published by the Director of Employment Standards before the agreement is made. The agreement must also contain a statement in which the employee acknowledges receipt of the Director’s document.
Manitoba: The Workers’ Compensation posting has been revised to reflect that all businesses in mandatory industries are required to register for Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba coverage. The Employee Leave posting has also been revised to reflect that Domestic Violence Leave has been renamed “Interpersonal Violence Leave.”
