What’s new?
The North Carolina 2021-22 Wage & Hour Notice has been revised to reflect changes to:

  • Wage Payment notice practices made by 2021 Senate Bill 208. The revised text informs employees that:
    • If requested in writing, final paychecks must be sent by trackable mail.
    • Employees must be notified in writing of paydays, pay rates, policies on vacation and sick leave, and of commission, bonus and other pay matters.
    • Employees must be notified in writing of any reduction in the rate of promised wages at least one pay period prior to such change.
    • Employees must be notified in writing of any company policy or practice that results in the loss or forfeiture of vacation time or pay.
  • Youth Employment made by 2019 Senate Bill 391 exempting youths who are between the ages of 16 and 18 and who participate in Supervised Practice Youth Internships from the prohibition of occupations declared hazardous or detrimental to the health and well-being of youth by the Commissioner of Labor.

Who must post?
North Carolina employers must post in a conspicuous place in every room where five or more employees are employed the current form of the Wage & Hour Notice to Employees. (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 95-9).
