What’s new for 2022?

California Minimum Wage Order (MW-2022) – Minimum wage rates for:

  • Employers with 25 or fewer employees:
    • 2022 $14.00 per hour
    • 2023 $15.00 per hour
  • Employers with 26+ employees:
    • 2022 $15.00 per hour
    • 2023 $15.00 per hour

Workplace Discrimination & Harassment

  • Increase in hiring, personnel and referral records retention requirement to 4 years
  • Definitions of “child” and “parent” applicable to family and medical leave rights under the California Family Rights Act (CFRA leave)
  • Clarification that applicants, unpaid interns, and employees who experience prohibited retaliation in the workplace may file a complaint with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH)
