What changed?
The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office recently approved a rule increasing the threshold to qualify as a “tipped employee.” Starting August 5, 2022, the amount in tips an employee must receive monthly will increase from $30 to $135 before an employer can reduce an employee’s hourly wage from $7.25 per hour to $2.83 an hour. The Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Posting has been revised to reflect this new rule.
Who must post?
All employers coved by the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act are required to post the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage posting in a conspicuous place where employees normally pass and can read it. (PA Code § 34-231.7)
