What’s New?
Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing Notice to Employer & Employee
  • Effective August 1, 2023, State law no longer requires that children under the age of 16 obtain a work permit from the Division of Labor as a condition of employment. All other state and federal laws remain in effect and will be enforced.
  • Effective August 1, 2023, the civil penalties for child labor law violations increase to not less than $100.00 and not more than $5,000.00 for each violation.
  • Minor changes clarifying the authority of the Director of the Division of Labor, Division of Labor contact information, and references to the Division’s administrative rules.
Who must post?
  • All Arkansas employers are required to post the Department of Labor and Licensing Notice to Employer & Employee in a conspicuous and accessible location on the business’ premises. (AR Code § 11-4-216).
