Georgia’s State Board of Workers’ Compensation has made updates to the Workers’ Compensation: Bill of Rights mandatory posting. This is a result of recent legislative activity.
The Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation was established in 1920 by the Georgia legislature and enforces the Workers’ Compensation Act. The W.C. law provides for specific benefits to be paid to employees for injuries arising out of and in the course of employment, without regard to negligence or fault, and at the same time, provides the employer with limited liability.
The mandatory-to-post Georgia Workers’ Compensation: Bill of Rights posting summarizes employee’s rights and responsibilities. Specific changes to the posting include the following:
Maximum weekly compensation rate increases effective July 1, 2013
- Temporary Total Disability (TTD) rates bump up from $500.00 to $525.00
- Temporary Partial Disability (TPD) rates bump up from $334.00 to $350.00
