Compliance with the regulations and requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“PPACA” or “ACA”) is complicated, particularly for small businesses. Fortunately, the federal government has a simple, one-stop Health Care Changes website to provide employers of all sizes with state-by-state information on their options and responsibilities under Affordable Care Act. The website is located at http://business.usa.gov/healthcare.
The site addresses many questions employers have about health care plans, buying insurance and coverage options with links to interactive webinars. It has information on tax credits and penalties, calculators and timetables, shared responsibility criteria, reporting requirements and other ACA provisions. It also includes an easy wizard tool that answers ACA compliance questions based on a company’s size and location.
The site connects businesses to information from the Small Business Administration, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Treasury Department. More information, including 2015 compliance deadlines, can also be found at HealthCare.gov. Both web tools will help ensure that employers of all sizes know what the Affordable Care Act means for them.
