AZ Minimum Wage Increasing in 2011

The Industrial Commission of Arizona has determined that Arizona’s minimum wage will increase for 2011. On January 1, 2011, the rate per hour will increase by 10 cents to $7.35 per hour. The current minimum wage rate is $7.25 per hour.

In 2006, Arizona voters enacted the “Raise the Minimum Wage for Working Arizonans Act”. This law provides for annual minimum wage rate increases based on increases in the cost of living. The cost of living is based on the federal Consumer Price Index (CPI) for All Urban Consumers, U.S. City Average.

Every employer covered under the Act will be required to pay each employee wages not less than $7.35 per hour and display the official Minimum Wage poster conspicuously in the workplace.
