If you’re one of America’s small business owners, employees, or customers, this week is for you… SBA and the Obama Administration want to wish you a very happy National Small Business Week!
What’s happening this week?
National Small Business Week is a public-private partnership that honors small businesses all over the country. 2012 marks the third National Small Business Week, and there are some really great things on tap this time around! In addition to the pat on the back, this week is designed to give all 28 million of America’s small businesses access to new tools and ideas that can help them grow.
After all, small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. President Obama says this is a make-or-break time for the middle class, and small businesses are going to drive our economy’s recovery. Simply put, the more successful your small business is, the healthier our national economy will be.
So, what can you take advantage of during National Small Business Week?
– A matchmaking session
SBA is hosting a special event designed to introduce small businesses to major companies. By signing up, you can show off your products to some of the country’s biggest companies — like AT&T, Lockheed Martin, and Honeywell. You just might land a giant new client that can take your small business to a whole new level!
– A forum discussion
Interested in taking advantage of business opportunities all over the world? The SBA Office of International Trade is hosting a discussion on exporting. In addition to taking part in the discussion, small business owners in attendance will also get to explore the Turkish Trade Pavilion and find out more about taking advantage of the growing Turkish market.
– A social media forum
Want your business to be on the cutting edge? SBA’s forum can teach you how to take advantage of the various social media sites. There’s even going to be a “tweetup” sponsored by Microsoft that can show you what you can do to see more success online! After that, you’ll get to watch a Google+ Hangout with the winners of the SBA Video Contest!
But this isn’t all that National Small Business Week has to offer… Be sure to check out the full schedule of events online!
Can’t make it to any of these events in person?
That’s OK. There is plenty of advice and resources online, so that you can learn how to give your business a boost, right from the comfort of your own office! And even though we’re celebrating you this week, SBA can help you year-round. No matter what day or week it is, SBA is committed to helping small businesses do what they do best — growing and creating jobs!
