Under AS 04.21.065, all Alaska liquor license and permit holders must display the following three warning signs:
Alaska Alcohol Pregnancy Warning (Product #02300)
- The sign warns that alcohol consumption during pregnancy can cause birth defects and that alcohol use is linked to various cancers, specifically breast and colon concerns.
- Posting Requirement: must be posted in a conspicuous location where it is clearly visible to anyone purchasing or consuming alcohol (e.g., behind the bar or at the point of sale).
Alaska Underage Alcohol Warning (Product #02301)
- The sign notifies the public that any person under the age of 21 who illegally enters the premises may be held civilly liable for $1,500 in damages.
- Posting Requirement: Must be posted at every entrance to the licensed premises.
Alaska Warning: Providing Alcohol to Minors (Product #02302)
- The sign states that providing alcohol to an individual under 21 is a felony offense, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
- Posting Requirement: Must be posted in a conspicuous location where it is easily seen by all customers.
These signs must be at least 11″ x 14″ in size, feature lettering at least 1/2 inch high, and use high-contrast colors for visibility.
