Colorado’s minimum wage projected to increase for 2011

Colorado’s Department of Labor & Employment, Division of Labor, has announced the state’s proposed 2011 minimum wage increase of 12 cents per hour, effective January 1, 2011. The proposed minimum wage rate for non-tipped employees is $7.36 per hour. For tipped employees, the minimum wage will increase to $4.34 per hour.

Article XVIII, Section 15, of the Colorado Constitution requires the Colorado minimum wage to be adjusted annually for inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) used for Colorado. Proposed Minimum Wage Order 27 is expected to become final following a public hearing on November 5, 2010 and a comment period ending November 8, 2010.

Colorado requires that employers to post the new 2011 Minimum Wage poster in an area frequented by employees where it may be easily read. Compliance Poster Company’s updated 2011 Colorado All-On-One and Peel ‘N Post for 12/2009 All-On-One posters will feature Colorado’s 2011 Minimum Wage posting. Colorado items are available in English and Spanish.
