Vermont Department of Labor has announced an increase in the minimum wage for 2012. The state has also released its updated Minimum Wage Notice.

  • Effective January 1, 2012, the minimum wage rate will increase 31 cents to $8.46 per hour.
  • For tipped employees, the basic wage rate will increase 15 cents to $4.10 per hour with a maximum tip credit of $4.36 per hour.

The state’s Minimum Wage labor law poster is updated each year. All employers of two (2) or more employees must prominently post the Minimum Wage notice so that employees may refer to it.

Employers can comply with the mandatory posting requirement by updating their 2011 Poster Series Vermont All-On-One™ Labor Law posters using the Vermont Minimum Wage Peel ‘N Post™, or by displaying Compliance Poster Company’s new 2012 Vermont All-On-One™ Labor Law Poster.
