The Utah OSHA 2013 Nursing Home Safety and Health Emphasis Initiative will be conducted statewide through October 31, 2013. The UOSH initiative is designed to help educate employers and employees regarding the safety and health hazards commonly found in nursing homes. Compliance with Utah OSHA health and safety regulations help to keep employees safe.
One of the objectives of the Nursing Home Safety and Health Initiative is to provide employers and employees the opportunity to identify and eliminate common hazards associated with nursing homes. There will be specific focus on frequent injuries such as:
- Slips, trips and falls
- Musculoskeletal injuries including strains and sprains
- Workplace violence for healthcare workers
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens
Compliance Poster Company has several safety and health-related products that can help reinforce training workers receive. Slips, trips and falls product #74703. Slips, Trips & Falls constitute the majority of general industry accidents and are second only to motor vehicles as the cause of accidental death. Most accidents can be avoided. The key to avoiding these injuries is through training your employees to be more aware of the dangers. Use the “8 Tips To Prevent Slips, Trips & Falls” poster as a daily reminder to your employees. This safety poster helps reduce your Workers’ Compensation claims and rates.
Another critical poster to be displayed in the workplace where those that handle and come into contact with blood and/or bodily fluids is the OSHA bloodborne Pathogens poster product #74203. Compliance Poster Company also offers three additional bloodborne-related products that include a bloodborne pathogens program for employers in California (#60720), a federal bloodborne pathogens training program on DVD (#61224) and a Medical Office Compliance Manual (#60201).
