On April 1, 2013, Nova Scotians earning the minimum wage will make more money.

For the fourth time since 2010, the province is increasing the minimum wage to keep up with the cost of living. This year, it will go up 1.5 per cent, to $10.30 an hour.

The minimum wage for someone who has less than three months’ experience is also increasing, to $9.80 an hour.

Minimum wage increases now occur annually and are based on the previous year’s national Consumer Price Index.

CPC’s Nova Scotia All-On-One Labor Law Posters have been updated with the new 2013 minimum wage rates. The province’s All-On-One Labor Law Posters also have been updated to include a new Service Canada Employment Insurance posting to inform employees of benefit qualifications and claim procedures in the event of a covered job loss.

In addition, customers that order by phone will receive a FREE set of Nova Scotia Labor Law Companion Posters that identify laws and any additional labor law postings employers might be required to post in their workplaces.
