The Department of Defense provides a hotline for the public and Department of Defense Employees to confidentially report allegations of wrong-doing about programs, personnel, and operations covered under the scope of the DoD. The kinds of violations that should be reported include: threats to homeland security, trafficking in persons, whistleblower reprisal, leaks of classified information, bribery and acceptance, acceptance of gratuities, conflicts of interest, computer crimes, and healthcare fraud. These and other complaints can be filed with the DoD hotline; however, there are several other avenues toward resolution you may want to consider before reaching out to the DoD, like contacting your local Inspector General, as well as posting federal labor law posters in the workplace.
There are incidents that are not handled by the DoD, such as 911 emergencies, minor incidents or theft of government resources, misuse of government vehicles, or incidents of time and abuse, complaints of EEO discrimination, locating a military service member, child and spousal support matters, or deceptive lending practices and other types of consumer fraud.
If the complaint falls under the jurisdiction of the DoD and the information is UNCLASSIFIED, there are several ways to contact them: via online complaint forms, email, fax, or phone. It’s also best to post workplace posters, so that each employee has access to DoD guidelines and information.
Compliance Posters Company has been committed to helping your organization remain compliant, since 1989, through workplace posters, and more.
