Michigan’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) has updated two postings, Right to Know Law & Hazard Communication Standards aligning them with the recent OSHA change to a Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling (GHS). The revised MIOSHA Part 42, 92, & 430 Hazard Communication Standard will improve the quality and consistency of hazard communication in the workplace. This will make it safer for workers by providing easily understandable information and appropriate handling and safe use of chemicals.
MIOSHA Act 154 Section 14j requires employers to post the RTK poster advising employees of the location of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and contact information. It informs employees that an employer is prohibited from discharging or discrimination against an employee who exercises the rights regarding information about hazardous chemicals in the workplace.
MIOSHA Act 154 Section 14k requires employers to post notice of the existence of new or revised SDS.
Compliance Poster Company has updated the Michigan All-On-One poster™, which includes both mandatory posting changes.
