What’s changed?
The Puerto Rico Unemployment Insurance posting has been redesigned and revised to inform employees:
  • Unemployment compensation is available to workers who have lost their jobs or their work hours have been reduced
  • How to file an unemployment insurance claim:
    • on the Puerto Rico Department of Labor and Human Resources website
    • by phone (during the COVID-19 pandemic)
  • Information the worker will need to provide when filing a claim
  • The employer’s business name, address, phone number, and email address registered under the Puerto Rico Department of Labor and Human Resources
Who is required to post?
The Puerto Rico Department of Labor and Human Resources requires all employers subject to Ley Num. 74 de 21 de junio de 1956 to post and maintain the Unemployment Insurance notice in a conspicuous and accessible place in or about the premises where a covered employee is employed.
What else do I need to know?
All Puerto Rico employers are also required to provide notification of the availability of unemployment insurance compensation to employees at the time of separation.
