What changed?
The Georgia Workers’ Compensation Bill of Rights Notice has been revised to reflect new benefit amounts effective July 1, 2023:
- The maximum weekly benefit for temporary total disability has increased to $800.
- The maximum weekly benefit for temporary partial disability has increased to $533.33.
- The maximum total compensation payable to a surviving spouse where there is no other dependent has increased to $320,000.
The Georgia Workers’ Compensation Panel of Physicians: Official Notice has also been updated. The fill-in section of the notice has been rearranged to make it easier to view the list of physicians and their contact information.
The updated Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) (29 CFR § 516.4), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA), & EEOC’s Know Your Rights (42 USC 2000e-10) are included on the 2023 Georgia All-On-One Labor Law Posters and Mobile Poster Paks.
Who must post?
- Employers with three or more employees are required to conspicuously post the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Bill of Rights Notice and Panel of Physicians: Official Notice in locations accessible to employees. (Code of Georgia § 34-9-81.1) Employers are required to notify employees about employee rights and responsibilities under the workers’ compensation law.
