What changed?
Veteran Benefits and Services:
As required by law, the Veteran Benefits and Services posting includes resources and hotlines available to help veterans understand their rights, protections, and accommodations. The posting has been updated with a new web address that individuals can use to contact the NYS Defenders Association Veteran Defense Program to receive legal services. The new posting date is 02/24.
New York’s Clean Indoor Air Act:
Under the Clean Indoor Air Act, smoking and vaping is prohibited in almost all public and private indoor workplaces. The posting has been revised to include a new location where smoking and vaping is permitted. Individuals may smoke and vape in licensed adult-use on-site consumption premises. The posting also includes a new email address where individuals can inquire about the Act.
Who must post?
- Every employer with 50 or more full-time employees is required to post the Veteran Benefits and Services posting in a conspicuous place accessible to employees in the workplace. (New York Labor Law § 201-H)
- Every employer in a place where the Clean Indoor Air Act prohibits or restricts smoking and vaping must display a sign that smoking and vaping is not permitted. (New York Public Health Law, Article 13-E)
