Oklahoma Employment Discrimination Posting Updated
- The enforcement provisions on the Oklahoma Employment Discrimination posting have been revised. Reference to the defunct Oklahoma Merit Protection program was removed from the posting.
- The revised text informs workers that contacting the Office of Civil Rights Enforcement (OCRE) does not conflict with any other rights a worker may have, including internal grievance or appeal procedures available through the employer or other third parties.
Oklahoma Anti-Discrimination Act Enforcement
- Before an aggrieved worker can file a civil court action alleging employment discrimination, the aggrieved worker must first file a charge of discrimination with the OCRE within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory act.
- If the charge cannot be resolved through the OCRE, the aggrieved worker may request a notice of their right to sue in civil court. (O.S. § 25-1350)
