Louisiana Earned Income Credit (EIC) 2024
The posting has been updated to reflect the IRS income maximums for EIC eligibility and new hire notification for Tax Year 2024.
- An employer should inform an employee whose anticipated wages are $60,000 or less annually of the potential availability of the Federal EIC at the time of hiring.
- Employees may be eligible for the EIC if their 2024 earned income and adjusted gross income (AGI) are each less than the stated amount based on tax filing status and whether the employee has any qualifying children.
Louisiana Minor Labor Law Placard
The posting has been updated to reflect a change in the State child labor law made by House Bill 156 requiring 30-minute meal periods only for minors under the age of 16. The Minor Labor Law Placard is included in Mobile Poster Paks or free to download.
Who must post?
- The Louisiana Earned Income Credit (EIC) 2024 posting must be posted with other required employee notices by any business establishment that has 20 or more full-time or part-time employees. (R.S. 23:1018.2)
- The Louisiana Minor Labor Law Placard must be conspicuously posted in the business establishment by every employer of minors. (R.S. 23:217)
