What changed?

The Maryland Safety and Health Protection on the Job posting has been updated to reflect an increase in civil penalties for violations of occupational safety and health standards. Effective July 15, 2025, the new maximum and minimum penalty rates are:

  • Violations: up to $16,550
  • Failure to Abate Violations: up to $16,550 per day
  • Willful or Repeated Violations: up to $165,514
  • Willful Violations: minimum of $16,550 

The updated posting also includes new contact information for the Regional Administrator of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and a new web address for the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) Division.

Who Must Post?

All employers are required to post the Maryland Safety and Health Protection on the Job posting where notices to employees are normally posted. (Md. Lab. & Empl. § 5-104(c)(1))
