New! Paid Sick Time
Paid Sick Time
The Nebraska All-On-One Labor Law Poster has been redesigned to include the new Paid Sick Time posting. Under the Nebraska Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, which takes effect October 1, 2025, employees will earn one hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked. The total amount of paid sick time an employee can use per year depends on the size of the business.
The paid sick time can be used for:
- The employee’s own illness, injury, or medical care.
- Caring for a sick family member.
- Certain health-related meetings for the employee’s child at school.
- Public health emergencies, such as business or school closures.
Employers with 11 or more employees must display the Paid Sick Time posting in a conspicuous and accessible place in each establishment where such employees are employed. (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 48-3806) Employers are also required to provide employees with a written notice of employees’ rights under the Act by September 15, 2025, or at the start of employment.
