Who must post the California Personal Rights Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Poster?
California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, § 84768 requires Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE’s) to post the personal rights of residents specified in CCR § 87468.1 and § 87468.2. The regulation also requires RCFE’s to post a nondiscrimination notice and information about how to report abuse or file a compliant against the facility. What is a RCFE?
RCFEs, commonly called assisted living facilities, generally serve persons 60 and older who are unable to live by themselves but do not require 24-hour nursing care. RCFE’s provide room, board, housekeeping, supervision, and personal care assistance with basic activities like personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and walking. RCFEs are licensed and inspected by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD).
