Who is required to post the California Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Complaint Poster (a.k.a. “If You See Something, Say Something”)?

As of October 1, 2018, California licensed Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) are required by California Code of Regulations, Title 22, § 84768(c) to post the California Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Complaint Poster (a.k.a. “If You See Something, Say Something”).   The poster must be 20” x 26” in size and be posted in the main entryway of the licensed care facility.

What does the Poster Cover?

The poster informs residents, their representatives and caregivers to report a complaint or concern at any licensed care facility using the provided hotline number (1-844-LET-US-KNOW) and to call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.  Concerned individuals may also contact the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division Compliant Bureau using the mailing address also provided on the poster.

California RCFE licensees must post the following four posters:

  2. Personal Rights Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (#05747) which includes mandatory:
    • Personal Rights of Residents in All Facilities
