Canadian Province Gets Word – Minimum Wage To Increase Before End Of Year

Employers need to juggle a plethora of labor laws including minimum wage increases. That is just what Saskatchewan employers are preparing to do on December 1, 2012.

Saskatchewan’s minimum wage will increase by 50 cents from $9.50 to $10.00 per hour the first day of December 2012.

The minimum wage adjustment follows a commitment by the Government of Saskatchewan to review the hourly minimum wage on a yearly basis. There are even talks of indexing the minimum wage in the future. But for now, employers need to prepare to pay employees the updated wage rate beginning December 1.
