Pursuant to Senate Bill 4982, employers are prohibited from taking or threatening to take any adverse action against employees who refuse to attend an employer-sponsored meeting, listen to speech, or view communications where the primary purpose is to communicate the employer’s opinion concerning religious or political matters.Minimum Wage
The New York Minimum Wage posting has been revised with the new minimum wage rates effective as of January 1, 2024. In New York City, Long Island and Westchester counties, the minimum wage increased to $16.00 per hour. In the remainder of the state, the minimum wage increased to $15.00 per hour.The following New York Industry Specific Wage Orders have also been updated with the new 2024 minimum wage rates:

Who must post?
  • Every employer subject to the Minimum Wage Act is required to prominently display the Minimum Wage posting in a conspicuous place on or about the premises where employees are employed. (19 NY Labor § 661)
  • Every employer in New York is required to post a notice informing employees of their rights under the captive audience law. (7 NY Labor § 201-D)
