What’s new?
Pursuant to Michigan Senate Bill 90 (2023) and Senate Bill 4 (2023), the Michigan Civil Rights Act has been amended to include new protected categories. Discrimination is prohibited based on traits associated with race, such as hair texture and protective hairstyles in housing, employment, education, and public accommodations. Additionally, discrimination is prohibited based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. The Michigan Discrimination posting has been revised to include these new protected categories under the Michigan Civil Rights Act.
Who must post?
All Michigan employers with one or more employees are required to post a current copy of the Michigan Discrimination posting in a readily accessible location in each work site where employees are employed. (MCL § 37.2206) |
