2025 Minimum Wage Rate Increases
New Employee Leave Entitlements

What’s new?
Minimum Wage
The Minimum Wage posting has been updated to reflect that the minimum wage increases:
  • Effective April 1, 2025, to $15.70 per hour
  • Effective October 1, 2025, to $16.50 per hour
  • On and after every April 1 beginning in 2025, the current minimum hourly wage rate for employees is adjusted based on the projected increase in the Consumer Price Index for the preceding year.

Employee Leaves
The Employee Leaves posting has been revised to include the following new employee leave entitlements:

  • Sick and Family Responsibility Leave:
    • Up to five days of unpaid leave per year due to the employee’s own illness or injury.
    • Up to three days of unpaid leave per year to care for an ill family member or to attend medical and dental appointments.
  • Serious Illness or Injury Leave:
    • Up to 27 weeks of unpaid leave per year if the employee has been diagnosed with a serious illness or injury.

Employer’s Workplace Harassment Prevention Policy (Companion Poster)

  • As of September 1, 2025, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) requires every employer to develop and implement a Workplace Harassment Prevention Policy. (Bill No. 464). Employers must post the Workplace Harassment Prevention Policy in a prominent location in the workplace. (OSH Act, s38).
  • The Companion Poster has been revised to provide a space for posting the Workplace Harassment Prevention Policy.
